Pharmaceutical Science
The disciplines underpinning medicine development — chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics and analytical science — and how they combine to make a candidate assessable.
Science & Innovation
Our interest in scientific innovation is practical: understanding which approaches genuinely improve how medicines are researched, developed and delivered.

New tools continue to change how pharmaceutical research is conducted, from computational modelling and data analysis to advances in laboratory automation. We follow these developments and assess where they can be applied responsibly.
Discovery science identifies and characterises candidate approaches. It is iterative, largely unsuccessful by design, and the point at which most scientific questions are first asked.
Formulation determines whether an active substance can be delivered consistently, stored reliably and administered appropriately. It is often decisive in whether a candidate can be developed at all.
Translational work connects laboratory findings to clinical questions, and clinical observations back to the laboratory. It is where scientific promise is tested against practical reality.
Pharmaceutical development rarely happens in isolation. Labse is open to discussion with researchers, institutions and industry partners where scientific interests align.
